Found things

If you have an old house which was also a working farm for generations, you find abandoned or lost things from time to time.   

We have a spot in the garden that was obviously used as a midden and lovely glass jars as well as intriguing bits of pottery turn up on occasion.

Other things surface too.   These are from the old byre and Cathleen found them on the ground shortly after the sheds had been re-roofed.   I presume they are something to do with a horse harness  as we have an old horse drawn plough as well, which we rescued from overgrown  bracken many years ago.  

 We also have a horse collar which a friend had been given when the farm was sold for the first time  , and who kindly returned it to us .
