A Hint of Autumn

There seemed to be a hint of autumn when I woke this morning, the thermostat had turned the heating on. Although there have been a few mornings when I have put the heating on myself, this was the first time for several months it has come on autonomously. It is evening and I am just about to turn on the heating again.

No sign of the sun again today. It has been uniformly cloudy. Not a day for sitting in the garden. Maybe there will still be a few more days this year when it is possible before we finally waive goodbye to summer.
