Winter West Highland Statesman

Today was my last day at work before a long weekend break and there was a lot that I had to get done. Consequently, no time for a blip from a lunchtime walk.

When I arrived at Derby railway station for my journey home I saw this splendid train standing in the sidings. The vintage brown and cream coaches were delightful, and they were ready to be pulled by an old class 47 diesel locomotive.

When I got home I decided to look it up and discovered that it is set to become the 'Winter West Highland Statesman' operated by Statesman Rail from 22-23 March. Well they have certainly got the 'winter' bit laid on nicely.
