Baddesley Clinton

One of my favourite National Trust properties. I go several times every year. The staff (particularly the gardeners) are so welcoming, and it seems to attract lovely people.

A huge highlight until two years ago was the Dahlia  Bed. Then they decided that the soil in that area needed a break. Last year it was the most glorious wildflower bed. This year they planted the same mix but it just came up as lots of weeds. Undaunted, they hit on the idea of the “Pumpkin Border”. Of course, we all miss the dahlias (and the sunshine), but this is really lots of fun.

It’s a magical place and now they’ve removed their restrictions and one way system. It was quiet and I had the luxury of taking the opposite route round the lake.  Freedom !!!
