Mahon

This I believe is my 2500 blip and as such featured one of my blipped places and I’m here on holiday!!

This is the City overlooking the Port of Mahon which is the largest natural Harbour in the Mediterranean and the second largest , after Pearl Harbour, in the world.

It’s a lovely hilly city. You can see the winding road up from the harbour at the bottom on the picture and the cluster of original buildings around the ‘Cathedral’ at the top.

It was a city built to impress if you come by sea which everyone did until around 50 years ago and some still do on Ferries and Cruise ships.

And it’s a great location on a Bioshere island and we love it.

Sorry if this sounds like a lecture but this is our first visit for over a year and it’s lovely to be back.
