Bowed but unbroken

Another gloomy day, and I’m not really up to walking far. Fortunately, it’s dry, and the garden still offers much that might be blipped.

Today I decide it’s the turn of one of our heathers. There’s a spike that seems to have been bent over - probably by one of the pigeons that seem intent on taking short cuts through our flowerbeds, caring nothing for what gets trampled underfoot. But while the stem is bent, it seems quite happy growing perpendicularly, bowed but unbroken by its rough treatment, each tiny bell-like flower perfect.
