The shrine...

My daily walk to work takes me under a rather ugly concrete bridge that carries a major road over the four tracks of the mainline railway into London Waterloo. Obviously it's a magnet for the local graffiti artists who produce some occasionally very striking work.

What has caught my attention over the summer however has been the variety of strange and unconnected objects that have appeared on or next to the power box seen in this shot. These have included, amongst others, a microwave oven, a printer/fax/scanner combo, a kids trampoline and, today's offering a fire extinguisher.

Whilst it's not exactly in the middle of nowhere it would require some effort to carry these things there just to dump them, which leaves my overactive imagination to wonder whether some strange cult are holding meetings there and leaving offerings to appease their chosen deity.

All the foregoing is of course a long winded excuse for not having had the time/inclination to produce a better photo!
