In a forest …….

….. of winter jasmine.

We don’t usually find caterpillars in our garden, so this relatively large specimen was a surprise. Annoyingly, it moved behind a twig, so this isn’t going to win any photographic competition. But as I’ve worked out what it is and haven’t seen one before, it wins out over better images I’ve taken today.

It is the caterpillar of the buff-tipped moth.
