First Brood

We assume this is a robin from the first brood I blipped earlier in the year. It is now moulting into its adult plumage.  There is another juvenile robin which comes regularly to the bird table which is obviously from a later brood.

Work on the summerhouse continues - I'm onto coloured stain now! As I started to apply the "Cornish Cream" I began to wish I had just gone for leaving it plain spruce with a transparent preservative but the wood is already darkening by the day and I really didn't want to end up with a brown shed. This colour exactly matches the colour our house was recently painted.
