It's snow joke
10:30hrs and my neighbour calls to say that the road is clear of snow, and passable with care.
10:50 hrs and I set off for the cafe, and thereafter the radio station
10:52hrs and I'm stuck in a snowdrift, 0.25 miles from my home
10:53hrs and there's a Transit van and horsebox stuck behind my car, all of us unable to move forward or back
11:00hrs and there's three of us shovelling snow madly
11:01hrs and my jeans are now absolutely soaking wet
11:20hrs and my neighbour, a building contractor, arrives on scene with a Manitou digger
11:30hrs and I can't find the aperture that holds the towing ring at the front of my car - this is down to blinding snow being driven into my eyes
11:40hrs and a rough old piece of rope is tied round the front axle of my vehicle
11:55hrs and I'm freed - the gentle pulling of the Manitou is just enough to pull my vehicle clear of what was becoming a snowheap
12:15hrs and I arrive at the radio station - frozen, stressed and with wringing wet trousers
12:20hrs and I take to the air, 20 minutes late and dressed in only my pants and shirt
I'm hoping that tomorrow will be a better day
