After the Storm...

Yesterday, one of the biggest traffic pileups in Alberta's history closed the province's busiest highway near Edmonton. More than 100 vehicles were involved, including a bus, tractor trailer units and a number of trucks and small cars. As a result of the crash, more than 100 people suffered various injuries. The cause of the pileup as well as of the over 100 other accidents in the city itself, was a spring snow storm. The roads were icy, visibility was poor and the wet heavy snow falling for hours, made navigation difficult. Today the sun was out and it seemed strangely still - as though the storm had never happened except for the thick white cover of new snow. Thus, I've entitled this photo, "After the Storm". It was taken from the vantage point of the parking lot at the Enjoy Centre.
