Marrickville Library

The mural is in honour of a Mr Guille who was dismayed by his pupils being taken out of school to work in the brickyards in the late 1800s. He set up a night school for them. Their faces, and those of other local children, appear in Ralf Kempken’s stencil artwork leading to the library’s entrance.

I like the poles, too.
