Indoor amusements
Although the people braved the elements today (one son to work, one to the dentist, me to the shops) the animals stayed put indoors, sleeping, eating (pregnant Nest is insatiable) or in Fred case's, perching on top of the fridge to paw at a magnetic crab with wobbly legs.
All day as the wind blew and the rain fell, the sharp cries of tiny, wet lambs rent the air from the cold wet field. I wished that I could bring them all in under cover. I could even keep one or two in this fridge: it has stopped working and is probably warmer than where they have to pass the days and nights. It's a very disturbing topsy-turvy season.
