Roseate Spoonbill Hitchiking

I was coming back from the farm stand down the road, when I noticed a roseate spoonbill and chick ambling down the road. As I walked closer, she sidled on, keeping her distance. She was feeding in the water for food until she saw me. There was a baby alongside which scurried away into the underbrush as I approached. They are very cute, but it dissappeared before my camera could capture the pair. We don't often see them in our neighboorhood.

This was my most exciting siting for the day! I had never seen their young before, which has less color, but the same walk.
