Mix up
Early start to make sure we made it to the dealership by 9. We did and noticed someone about to head out with a courtesy car . I hope they have more than one I said. Hmmm - turned out our service was actually booked for tomorrow. Not sure how that happened as I booked the service over a year ago when the van was in the workshop last year but I had nothing in writing to confirm the date so was about to put it down to user error on my part. They asked us to wait whilst they checked if the workshop could fit us in anyway.
It transpired that as we’d asked them to look into a leaky window in the door and they needed to rebond the seal, a procedure that would take two days to complete, that we’d either have to stay 2 nights in their car park or rebook the van in for a later date. Wasn’t too happy at that prospect but didn’t see too many other options. The service manager was confused as to why no one had informed us of the need to keep the van for 2 days.
so when the lovely people in the service department then offered to drive the van back to us next week once they’ve carried out the service we jumped at the chance to take the train back to Edinburgh. Tickets were under £11 each and we had the chance to enjoy a lovely breakfast in the Centurion bar at the station before boarding.
Miss PHL picked us up and we had time to nip into the kitchen showroom before collecting the puppy from doggy daycare.
Mr PHL made curry for dinner and I finally caught up with journals. All in all a good day!
