Taking it easy.....

A little Blue Damselfly flew in to my garden today, enjoying a little sunshine on a spent foxglove. Looking quite dainty and shining in the light but it was those eyes that caught my eye.

The Blue Damselfly or Kekewai is the largest species with a body length and wingspan of 45mm. The males are blue-black and the females rather greener. Damselflies always rest with their wings closed whereas Dragonflies rest with their wings open. There are six species of Damselflies known in New Zealand.

Another lovely autumn day, very warm - 28C, blue sky and gentle breeze. The mornings are cooler and the dew heavier. A day of pottering round home, a few house jobs, a little mending and putting some hems up on new jeans - really wish I had longer legs. Tea tonight is Beef Tacos, nice and easy for at Saturday night.

Happy Weekend!!
