Transition!

Today my sweet daughter officially becomes a teenager. That means that I have two growing frontal lobes to worry about (my son has been a teenager for a couple of years). The next few years will be coloured by frequent discussions (preventive and post-action) about the consequences of various actions, helping my teens to link impulsive thinking with facts during a moment when brain development causes most decisions to be taken by emotional input. Hopefully this will help their brain to make the connections and teach the frontal lobe to recognize bad ideas.
On the photo my daughter is passing barefoot, with shoes in her hands, through a crevice in the rocks/cliffs to turn home after a swim in a local river. I passed through first which makes me wonder if my frontal lobe got all the connections right!
