Fishing

Out in the Hauraki Gulf fishing today - VERY unsuccessful, just one snapper that made the cut for legal size. But the bonus was this flesh-footed shearwater also "fishing" - hanging around the boat waiting for stray bits of bait. Lovely close-up views and I loved they way they dunk their heads under water and scan around looking for food. Also a few Bullers shearwater doing the same. Closer inshore there were huge flocks of fluttering shearwater, just hundreds of them. A good day for birding at least.
