A token gesture

We had a walk from Kelling Heath through the woods to Weybourne station this morning where we stopped for coffee and cake.  Lovely to sit on the platform benches and watch the world go by.  The North Norfolk Railway is all single track apart from through Weybourne station so trains pass each other here.  Only one train at a time is allowed on each single track section so the driver has to collect a token which allows him to proceed.  Here he is handing over the token for the section he has just completed and is collecting the token for the rest of the journey which was brought in by the other train.

The railway has a steam gala this weekend when all of it’s engines will be in service so I may well be blipping more trains in the next few days!
