Hurricane Ida

This photo that I captured on the way home last night will give you an idea of the flooding we experienced in our area from the remnants of Hurricane Ida.
We had to go out earlier in the evening to attend a memorial service for a deal friend and coming home we hit the worst of the storm.  The visibility was almost nonexistant and flooding was everywhere.  If not for having an suv type vehicle we would have been stranded on the highway until the water had subsided.  There were cars abandoned all over and many people had to be rescued.  
Luckily we made it home and we were fortunate that our house didn't take on any water.  Many homes in the area did.  The Govenor declared a state of emergency which will hopefully provide funds for people recovering from the storm.
