bud-
-get day.
when i looked at the rota and say nine names i knew something was up - 16 pages of buget day pullout special alongside the usual 30 pages of news and foreign! woohoo! bear in mind the fact that last august a normal day of work (about 26 pages) had seven or eight people on the rota and you'll see just how much extra work we're doing these days (the usual count is five or six).
it went suprisingly smoothly, tho the printing was snarled at every point and the platemakers were grumbling about their workload (several other things get printed on a weds night, eg weekend magazines).
btw, backblipped yesterday if you care to glance over. must get back to posting on the day - and finding time to comment!

<small conversation, underlining that we understand each other = small cheer.
small email requiring small glance and small reply to prove that point understood was understood = deathly hush. *sigh*
and, as predicted, the future of small conversations sucks. why do people keep telling me not to worry when i have a habit of, when being pessimistic, getting it spot on? i don't enjoy being right about this crap, but it makes it worse when i'm essentially told i'm wrong about everything!!>
