Escaped Balloon

At the grocery store this morning I stopped to watch four employees trying various tactics to rescue this pink balloon from the ceiling.  The guy on the ground was up on the ladder spraying the balloon with water when I got there.  I'm not sure what he thought that would do but it definitely wet everything around it.  Then another employee tried throwing things at it but of course that was futile as well.  Two of them tired of the antics and drifted away but these two guys were determined.  The one on the ladder was trying to get the balloon ribbon wound around the pole he was holding but it kept slipping off.  Then, the guy on the floor had one of those grabbers at the end of a pole and he was finally able to grab the ribbon and get it down.  The small crowd that had gathered applauded.  It was a very silly endeavor for a 10 cent balloon - well maybe 20 cents with the helium.  Anyway, I thought it would make Admirer laugh so it is perfect for Silly Saturday today in her memory.  Many thanks to DavidC for keeping the challenge going and to 59 for hosting today!

We have had several cooler (in the low 80s) days in a row and it feels like fall in the early mornings.  I am grateful that the weather is changing and maybe we've seen the last of the 90s!  This has been the 3rd hottest summer in Colorado history.  The National Ocean and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) stated that July 2021 was the Earth's hottest month on record, going back 142 years!

I really appreciate all your visits and stars and hearts!  Thank you all very much :-) xx
