Egging on

My aubergine (egg plant) had not produced much by the time of the virtual show but I now have 3 very respectable aubergines with their glossy skin.

Apparently they are known as egg plants because the original plants taken to North America had fruit that was white and egg shaped. It is a plant of the nightshade family - fortunately not of the poisonous variety.
