Mad Hatter’s themed dinner
Backblipped Sunday 5th for Saturday 4th
After my late night I was very glad that Miss PHL had offered to get up with Phin and I finally surfaced just after 9.30 to find the dog had just thrown up twice. He had fallen asleep after Miss PHL came down to him (as had she) so hadn’t eaten so was perhaps just hungry. We gave it a few minutes and fed him a little and he kept it down.
As his eyes were quite gunky again I utilised the online vet available via the pet insurance and the diagnosis was potentially conjunctivitis so to keep bathing his eyes with either water of camomile tea and if no better over the weekend to see our own vet for medication.
It was a day of catching up with things and visiting a flooring store to check out their range. Initial thoughts were of using Amtico but it appeared to be quite expensive. Mr PHL had worked out the square footage needed and it may actually be within budget. We came home with a brochure (an inch thick!) to look through.
Got myself organised in the afternoon to head to my friend Susan’s house as we were due to enjoy a delivery experience billed as a Mad Hatters dinner party. Each course was turned and required a small amount of cooking and playing. The company supply written instructions and also a follow along video. We ate rabbit terrine (a first for both of us), mushroom tea, squid ink pasta, chicken ballotine and pork croquette washed down with the supplied bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Pudding was especially delicious, chocolate cake and mouse encased in a white chocolate shell served with raspberry sherbet. An interesting experience but we started at 6.30 and didn’t finish till after 10.
We called it a night around 11.
