Bradley Hall
What a beautiful warm day it was today. Had a lovely dog walk with hubby and then headed off to spinning with both daughters. Sat on the terrace in the sunshine for a refreshing drink before going in the pool. A lovely Sunday!
A Google search tells me that this hall was finished in 1845 and was designed by the architect John Dobson for the Simpsons, a wealthy coal mining family. The nearby 4 acred walled garden, now a popular tea room called Bradley Gardens, belonged to the estate to provide food and veg for their kitchen. The glasshouse meant that they could grow exotic fruits. During the war, apparently, it was handed over to the war effort and the land girls. Zooming in on my photo, it looks like a red kite was circling.
I'm not sure who lives there now but what a stunning venue and location.
