Plus ça change...

Point of view

Last night's train journey went surprisingly smoothly, we made it to the station with time to spare for a little lounging about in the lounge. Our delightful train steward took our breakfast orders and I managed to persuade her that I wasn't really going to wee out of the train window (long story).

Once on the train we cracked open the fizz (see Ness's blip for our very cool camping mugs) and all squeezed into one cabin (see Lesley's blip) to talk nonsense. Sleep followed, and then all too soon, morning. The lovely Reeny delivered tea and bacon rolls, and before we knew it we were out in the very fresh sea air of Penzance.

Happily our hotel had our rooms ready and we were able to get settled in, shower and get some caffeine on board. The day started bright and even a bit sunny, but it was chilly and a bit greyer when we went out to stroll along to the next village. Lunch in a pub followed, with esoteric conversation ranging from what makes us need to wee, to where we're going for our next girls weekend (the boys will be glad to hear that St Lucia was ruled out early on as being too far for a weekend).

Back on the bus for a browse round the shops and tea and cake. Now others are snoozing to the tune of the Now Show, later fizz, a restaurant and a pub beckon. Exhausting this holiday business.
