Today’s Blipfoto shows Hugh Sharp’s windup record player which accompanied him during WW1
The lid has a recessed dome which reflects and amplifies the sound produced by the horn. Everything is mechanical. No need to buy batteries.
It does seem to be in remarkable condition. On occasions visitors have looked up the record and played the song on their mobiles.
Hugh commanded an Artillery Group.
Now that the "summer holidays" are coming to a close the number of visitors is reducing, although we were very busy at Hill of Tarvit today, answering the many questions the house raises.
