Honey fungus

Armillaria mellea.

An aggressive fungus that feeds on the roots of trees and woody shrubs. Gardeners fear it
as it is very hard to eradicate.

It is long lived and forms the largest living organism in the world. One in Oregon, U.S.A. Is said to
cover over 3.4 square miles.
