Oh Deer!

Or rabbit. Or slug. Or stick-swinging boy.

These flowery sprigs were lying on the ground below the small shrub I had planted only 2 weeks ago for my sister to see as she passes on her way between our two houses.

Snipped off but not eaten. Two people have blamed deer, though we haven't seen any venture into the garden from either the field or the road (having ventured across from Heriot Watt campus).

Any alternative suggestions welcome
