Dry earth.
Weather forecasts repeatedly predict rain that just doesn't materialise, so the soil, which has a high component of clay, dries up creating deep suface cracks. Fortunately the grape vines which never get watered, are able to survive and produce grapes. We harvested the grapes and after about eight hours spent removing the grapes from their stems, I now have about 90 liters of grape juice sitting in s.steel bins, waiting to begin fermentation. I was promised help but it wasn't forthcomimg. Let him say our wine, or we made it. Let him try.
