Langlaufing

Schools have broken up and we have a week of a skiing holiday before it is back home to the books...those dreaded exams are looming and this has been earmarked as a studying holiday for my two older sons, with GCSE's and AS's just around the corner.

It was too late to go up the mountain when we arrived so my son decided to go 'langlaufing' instead to get some exercise - or Nordic Skiing as it is called in English. It looks easier than it actually is - it is physically quite demanding and those long narrow skis do not offer a stable footing. When I tried it a few years ago I had many falls on the compacted track, so I have never tried again...
