After the Storm

I was up long before the sun this morning - the thunder was rolling, the lightening was flashing and the rain was pouring down.    

I made the coffee, boiled extra water in case the power went out again, and sat down in the dark to watch the storm and then read for a while once it had passed over.

Shortly after sunrise, we went out to see the still threatening but beautiful sky.   It cleared up soon after that and ended up being a lovely autumn day.   Our brother came over in the afternoon and we all went down the bay and visited with neighbours at a nearby cottage.

After returning to our place the skies changed again - it rained for a few minutes and then a rainbow appeared!    As the sun was setting the colours in the sky were simply amazing - dark and threatening, but yellow and orange as well!   The weather has been very unsettled lately but the skies have been putting on a fabulous show!
