Day 27: Poised Predator

Extra: Golden wings and red antennae (hiding insect)

Im visited and we went to the community garden in the afternoon sunshine. I was very pleased to spot this darter when she landed on a bamboo cane near us (I'd pretty much given up on the idea of a dragonfly blip this year...); we thought that she was resting, but it turned out that there was an insect with red antennae hiding in the hollow of the bamboo, and the dragonfly was angling to snatch a snack.
