Cricket In The Autumn Dew
Last time I posted a Roesel's bush cricket it was a male. I spotted this female sitting motionless in the dew this morning waiting for the sun to burn it off. Her sharp ovipositor can just be seen. She uses this to cut into grass stalks where she lays her eggs.
It won't be long before Ollie dog and I need a torch for our after dinner walk. We met Brock the badger in the gloaming this evening. His black and white face shows up so well at dusk.
