B.A.C.K. to Basics

Road Trip!

We’ve had enough of staying home. This afternoon both kids had other plans so BJ, the dog and I packed into the car to see the beauty of Maine. We were a half hour from home when the sky opened up and we wondered if we should turn around. Pushing onward, our first stop was foiled by clouds. We wanted to go up Quill Hill (2848’ elevation with 360 degree views of the western mountains of Maine). No good…. Couldn’t see five feet in front of us! We’ll be back for peak foliage for sure!!

Second stop, making our way around to Rangeley and Oquossoc, we stopped at Height of Land. Incredible views (blip photo) and the weather cleared as we pulled into the overlook. The dog was thrilled to get out and sniff every rock, tree, and leaf! What a difference in temps too, left the house it was 80, Quill Hill was 58, and Height of Land was 55.

Fun afternoon spent with my guys!
