Caramel Rum & Raisin Fudge

I have gone back to making fudge which is quite straight forward the caramel went down well, both my wife and V1k1, the chocolate was too rich for me and has lasted longer than the caramel and today caramel rum and raisin.
My wife has already indicated that the rum is quite strong but is it possible to add too much rum?
