Different Day

Mrs S was outside the tyre fitting centre at 0830 only to find out that as well as the tyre being ‘shot’ we needed a new wheel.
For some time now we have noticed that the rear offside deflated quickly and today we found out why. The steel wheel had become porous and air was passing out of the wheel itself. Spare fitted and new tyre on a decidedly dodgy spare in the boot we looked for a replacement. Good range of prices from £50 to £109 but we took the mechanics advice and headed off to the scrap yard.
Boiling hot in the yard but we found a car of the same make and model, wheel off and a good tyre already on it and full of air after standing in the scrapyard for a good while.
Back to the tyre centre, ‘new’ wheel checked and fitted as the spare. New tyre purchased earlier off the original damaged wheel and fitted to the old spare, (are you following this?), the result, one new tyre, one second hand wheel and tyre, all fitted for under £70, bargain.
Started building the coal bunker, base and one side made before running out of timber.
Busy Day!
