Tram

I arrived in Lund yesterday to visit some old friends from back when I lived here. A novelty is now up and running, the tram line from the central station to the newly built ESS research centre at the, for the moment, border of the city. The tram created a storm of complaints, but also a lot of praise. Complaints mostly concerned changing the image of Lund to something believed to become ugly and that the whole thing was too expensive, with the only purpose of creating a useless monument of the councils strong men. Now that it’s here, the general feeling is that it has been a success and that the constructors have made a good job of making it be a part of the old city.

Another feature is the balloons you can see floating the city on nice days like today.
