Picnic time?

As Easter approaches the stately homes of England once more open their doors. And, as part of their drive to make visitors feel more 'at home', they are invited to read books, play pianos and even sit in chairs! At Dunham today, there were a number of guides in period costume engaging with people like us, bringing the past to life with great stories and humour.
Also, we were told that we were welcome to take photos in the house, so long as the flash was off. How liberating! It was perhaps too dark in the kitchens, but I couldn't resist this sign on a box.
