New arrivals

The trailer rattled along the lane, so Russet and I waited for it to pass. The farmer drove it into the moat field, and unloaded several ewes with lambs. The ewes stood, assessing their new surroundings, while the lambs bleated until they re-joined their mothers.
The farmer stood and watched for a while, and soon after he had left the lambs were suckling again.
New pastures, plenty of tough grass, but very cold. Russet and I went walking, but away from the new arrivals. Although she wouldn't hurt them, I thought the sheep had had enough anxiety for one morning!
