Runaround

I walked Dog early this morning before it got too hot. Mr L not so good today, so I called the doctor. Still no direct face to face appointments without a telephone call first. He (not our usual doctor)  rang promptly at 2:15 and told him he would need to see him, could he come to the surgery at Church Lane at 3:10.

So, leaving in good time we set off to the back entrance to the surgery, opposite the church that has been used since appointments started up again. No parking space in the small car park, so I offloaded Mr L and drove to the public car park. Mr L soon appeared with the news he was at the wrong place, we needed to be at the hub! Across the other side of the village! We arrived almost still on time. Ten minutes later Mr L appeared, very breathless now (this is the problem anyway) and agitated. He declared this wasn’t the right place, and the stupid woman at the surgery had got it wrong. Back to Church Lane. When he got there, another lady came out and told him this is Church Rd and there is another surgery (news to us, never heard of it before) across the road, and past the church, and too far for Mr L to walk! Nowhere to park here, so I offloaded him again while I drove round! By the time he arrived, they told him he had missed his 3.10 appointment as it was now 3.30. I The receptionist could probably tell he needed to see the doctor by now and relented. Doc thinks he has a chest infection, but also not happy with his COPD, that of course hasn’t been reviewed since 2019. Steroids prescribed, emailed to the chemist, so I could pick them up on the way home. Well, normally that’s what happens, but the pharmacist was in a meeting, so I had take Mr L home and go back out again!

I had planned to take mollie’s birthday present up to James but am going to have to try and find another mutually convenient time before the day!
