Paranoia?!?
Although my son will normally take the bus to college, I drove him there this morning for his induction day. As the route goes straight past the school I used to work at, I saw loads of my old students on the way. It became a tradition over the two years I was there that I always waved at a certain group of students every morning as I passed them waiting at a bus stop and it was lovely that they saw me today and we did the 'waving thing' again. I wonder if they miss me as much as I miss them?
On the subject of my last school, a temporary supply teaching placement has come up at a school I know very well that's only ten minutes from home. It would be absolutely perfect but the only thing the agency is waiting for is to get my references back. They've now applied four times so it's getting a little worrying as the job’s supposed to start on Monday but I'm sure it'll be fine, it's just always crazy at the start of the school year, even under normal circumstances. Not sure what happens if I can't get a reference in time...
My picture is nothing to do with that, though. I took my daughter into Crawley to get the last of what she needs for uni and the water fountains in Queen’s Square were on and full of little kids - and their parents - cooling off. I was very tempted to join in - isn't it hot?!?
