Surgery Day

For me (Chris) it was eye surgery day. Following the bleed in my right eye back in mid July, I needed a vitrectomy to remove the blood, hopefully in time this will restore my vision. We were up in time to get me in the hospital for 7.30am, I was second in the theatre schedule and was out of surgery and awake by 11.30am. All very efficient and with a great team in the eye care unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

I was back home by 2pm and will be sporting the eye patch for a day (I’ve seen underneath, not pretty!). I’ll be back to hospital for a check tomorrow and then again in a week or so. We won’t know if it is a complete success for a few weeks but it is good to be through today.
