After the Kyna.

Cabbage and kale

The Heritage trough, near the front door, has a cutting from honeysuckle last year and that is its main purpose in life. The ornamental cabbage and kale are for added interest over the winter plus some Tête à Tête daffodils for spring.
The trough is resting on a wool base which comes as insulation for the frozen dog food which Kyna loves. It has the advantage of holding onto some of the water which drains out v quickly from free draining compost.
Many years ago I tried the ornamental cabbage while in the hills, the local rabbits thought they were a wonderful snack.
