What a busy day! Started the day in town as JP had to get his new glasses adjusted - a great reason for a walk by the harbour. 
Then off to Powerstock Common Nature Reserve - a new one for us. Some of the country lanes we went along during our journey there were amazing - more grass than tarmac! Had a lovely wander there along disused and repurposed railway lines.
Then off to Mapperton gardens - it’s ages since we were there and they are stunning - so much improved on previous years. We didn’t go in the house but so enjoyed their spectacular gardens. We had a chat with one of the gardeners and she told us that last year it was just her and the head gardener looking after the whole state which was incredible! Now, fortunately, the team is back.
