After the storm.
I shouldn’t be here!
No, I should be halfway to Cornwall, staying overnight in Chippenham.
Unfortunately Mr C jarred his leg on Tuesday when playing bowls. He tripped on a back board.
Not getting any better, and by last night was in excruciating pain.
So I suggested going to A&E, but he rang 111 instead.
He had a very thorough consultation, and was told to ring our doctor.
Easier said than done!
However he did eventually get a doctor to ring him back.
After answering all the questions etc. the doctor said he didn’t think he had damaged his artificial hip. ( That was his main concern.)
He thought it was just a strain and would just take time to heal. Just rest and take it steady.
Take co-codamol for the pain.
So our Travelodge has been cancelled, and money refunded.
Have rung Carol to let her know we won’t be arriving on Saturday.
Have decided to go on Sunday.
I will probably do most of the driving, although he is actually OK driving the car. The pain is when he walks.
Will stop overnight half way as usual, so arriving in Cornwall on Monday.
So sat here surrounded by cases, bags shoes, boots etc.
Fingers crossed he will feel much tomorrow.
He certainly feels better after talking things through with the doctor.
Must finish by saying “ Well done”. to Emma Raducanu for reaching the finals of the US Open tennis tournament. What a fantastic achievement for one so young.
