Coventry Cathedral

The dramatic ruins of the medieval church which was destroyed by enemy bombing in 1940, is joined physically with the new cathedral designed by Basil Spence in 1962. It was built as a symbol of reconciliation and hope, a triumph of love over hate. I have never seen a ‘welcome sign’ at the entrance to a cathedral quite like this one. I hope that you can read it.
