FF Decisions Decisions
One collection of "houseplants" summering out on the front deck. They include the red and bright green coleus, a 13 year-old scented geranium in the brown pot on the stand, the Hairy Monster is a bromeliad desperate to be divided into two or three before winter. It was just a slip of a plant 10 or so years ago taken from a 9-foot tall bush in Mississippi where it thrived outdoors. The flowers are uniquely gorgeous.
The days are number for the coleus, I fear. I have some other large and small pots of various plants that need to come in for the 6 months of winter. The days are still lovely with rains but this morning the arising temperature was 46ºF or 7.7ºC. The early warnings are posted!
Decision time for who is coming inside, including a few hardies who may go dry and survive in the unheated garage. And who will submit to winter in a compost pile. They have all served well... except for Hairy who needs a makeover this month or in early October.
