Dyzart Cemetery & Sea Swimmers at Salterstown
I visited this tiny old cemetery with my cousin Geraldine, we share four grandparents. Here our great grandparents George & Margaret Reynolds are buried with their daughter Elizabeth (Lilly) who was the Mother of my Dad and his Sister Freda who was G’s mum. Their Brother Brendan who died of a Childhood illness is also named here.
I returned to Salterstown today to photograph the sea swimmers taking to the water at high tide, I liked many of the images but as I used the Nikon I have to wait until return home to process! I have posted a blip of the magnificent swimmers of Salterstown, I salute you!
I remember my Dad would borrow my Grandad's bike to go swimming here, I preferred to swim from sandy shores of Annagassan as a child.
We also visited Clogherhead, a small but busy fishing port with a number of fine shipping vessels and harbour seals. Earlier I had heard One of the swimmers refer to the seals as having “ a big yoke of a face on it”, I knew exactly what she meant.
