Launch Day

We had a lot to fit in today; breakfast, showered and dressed we headed off to the macular clinic in Helston. I have felt over the last week or two that the vision in my right eye has deteriorated and sure enough. The underlying cause has lessened but the medicine has caused a cataract so no injection required to day, an appointment in seven weeks for a way ahead.
Coffee and cake and a trolley dash round the supermarket before returning to Falmouth where I was dropped at the boatyard to help set up for the evening.
And what a great evening, the weather held, the pipers played, the choir sang shanty’s, the padre blessed the gig, the wife of the Lord Lieutenant named the gig, EPIC ENERGY, and I was fortunate to have been selected in the initial six to row.
All filmed by BBC Spotlight for the 6:35pm news slot.
Lots of guests, lots of photo’s and a few beers, by 9:00pm they had all gone and 14 of us made our way to the pub.
A long day and a great night.
